Kenmore Square
02:57
|
|||
I'm a record collector,
& I shopped at Planet records
I was just a kid
Thought it'd be there forever
So I went to Deli Haus, but it was long gone
college kids sucked away the charm
Stepped down to Captain Nemo’s
for an Italian hero
and a pinball game, but it’s aint the same
off to The Rat, didn’t need an ID
cuz everybody there knows me
This is not my kenmore square
I used to see The Pixes there
Now the hotel commonwealth is where
My childhood went to die…
I passed the dutch with Mr. Butch ,
in the alley behind a garbage truck
caught a Red Sox game, for 20 bucks
now I don’t know where I am
I snuck into the cars, with a beer in my hand
and the bouncers didn't give a damn
they don't know my name but they know my face
they just smiled and waived me in!
This is not my kenmore square
I used to go see Gang Green there
Now the hotel commonwealth is where
My childhood went to die…
Well I took my date, to The Pizza Pad
and she looked at me and smiled
then went to Bill's, saw The Shods and The Pills
we had a wicked awesome time
tried pick up chicks back at Narcissus
but the girls would always laugh
they weren’t girls at all, they were 6 feet tall
but man did I have a blast
This is not my kenmore square
I used to see The Atlantics there
Now the hotel commonwealth is where
My childhood went to die…
solo
blame it on menino
blame it on BU
blame it all on Amazon
it wasn't me and you!
who took a piece of history
sold it to the chains
well this used to be a rock & roll town
now it's Anywhere, USA!
This is not my kenmore square
I used to see the Til Tuesday there
Now the hotel commonwealth is where
My childhood went to die
went to die
went to die
went to die
DIE!

Know No Know
02:48
|
|||
well I saw you walking with your laundry
tears on your face and your head hung low
And I like the way you fold your clothes just so
like Marie Kondo and I thought that you should know
I thought that you should know
But she don’t wanna know
every now and then if you need a friend
well I think that you should let me know
I'm a good listener, we'll talk music and literature
I'm really no so sinister, we're similar I thought that you should know
I thought that you should know
But she don’t wanna know
Let's pretend that we're long lost, friends
reunited after losing touch years ago
we can catch up on the good old days
which could start today, over espresso and I think that you should
I thought that you should know
But she don’t wanna know
Know I know that I know that it's not so easy
when my lines is cheesy and you just don't know
if you can trust me, I'm not asking you to love me
I just feel what I feel we could take it slow
But she turns her head when she sees me
No, does she not believe me, would she sink so low?
to go slumming, my guitar keeps strumming
to a tune that's too fast for slow and I think that you should
I thought that you should know
But she don’t wanna know

That’s Alright
03:11
|
|||
Wll I'm sick and tired of sittin around with nothing good to do
but if I have to sit around I'm glad that it's with you
and if I ever got around to doing something new
I wouldn't be sittin around no more but I'd still be here with you
and that's all -
right
Well the sun goes up and the sun goes down
And the world keep turnin’ round
And I’ll be found on the sunny side of town
Any time that you’re around
If I ever find my way to the places in my dreams
I'd share the pot of gold I found beneath a wllow tree
with you and you alone my love, imagine how it'd be
if you could take the world by storm and do it next to me
and that's all -
right
Well the sun goes up and the sun goes down
And the world keep turnin’ round
And I’ll be found on the sunny side of town
Any time that you’re around
bridge:
and yeah
they told you that, that I'm no good for you and
It might be more than a just little true but
the fire I feel when, when I just look at you
is more than we need to get us thru
Well I'm sick and tired of sitting around, what really worries me
is that someday you realize that you got sick of me
I may not be the kind of guy's got all the things you need
they say that all you need is love and we've got you and me
and that's all -
right
Well the sun goes up and the sun goes down
And the world keep turnin’ round
And I’ll be found on the sunny side of town
Any time that you’re around

It Ain’t All About You
03:05
|

What is this I see before me?
Drunk text from my ex under the Christmas tree
She ain’t looking for some lovin just attention
But where were you when I was out on the street!
It ain’t all about you
This time
Is it good when we’re together cuz I can’t remember
As I recall it not much at a it was civil war
When the going got too rough it was too much hard handle
So she just walked right out the door again
It ain’t all about you
This time!
Now she’s looking for a piece of the action
And I know that in the end that I’ll give in
and when it’s over it’s a fatal attraction
I can’t remember her so here we go again
SOLO
What is this I see before me?
Drunk text from my ex under the Christmas tree
She ain’t looking for some lovin just attention
But where were you when I was out on the street!
It ain’t all about you
This time!

The Night We Regret
02:04
|
|||
Hey, how ya been
I know it's been 30 years
And hey, yeah I’m a little bit high
and I drank about 7 beers
I saw a commercial for a great new drug
and it used that old song, the one we used to love
the one that was playing on the night we regret
but hey,
if you try, really really hard
you might that we had more than a few laughs
Hidden in between the scars
And I cannot remember the name of that song
or who even sang it it's been far too long
the one that was playing on the night we regret
cuz we'd
fight and we’d break up and make up and fight
and the neighbors would scream cuz we’d
lasted all night
and we’d fight and we’d make up and break up and fith
and that’s why I called tonight
and hey, I don't care about you and I'm
sure that you feel the same
but hey
that song made me think of you
wait that song was called wicked game
Holy shit I remember the name of that song
but can’t remember who sang it, it’s been far too long
the one that was playing on the night we regret
the night
we regret

Fast One
03:46
|
|||
Sometimes life it takes a turn
And I’m the type to never learn
That’s when it’s time for a heel turn
Gotta burn it down turn it upside down
So if you gonna roll with us
You gotta understand it’s dangerous
First your gonna have to earn my trust
And if it goes bust dummy up and dumb it down
That’s when it’s time to pull a fast one
I swear that it’ll be the last one
Ain’t gonna wait to see how it ends
This time I’ll take some action
And then I’ll ride off in the sunset
I know you probably upset
But the gloves and the bets all off this time
Old fashioned, let’s pull a fast one
So if you've down to take that step
To the side of town you won’t suggest
To enemies friends and all the rest
We might make it back, don’t worry you’ll see
Good luck to the suckers who 9 to 5
Heart attack, it’s your chance to live or die
And ain’t going out like that this time
And if you agree, it’s cuz you’re just like me
That’s when it’s time to pull a fast one
I swear that it’ll be the last one
Ain’t gonna wait to see how it ends
This time I’ll take some action
And then I’ll ride off in the sunset
I know you probably upset
But the gloves and the bets all off this time
Old fashioned, let’s pull a fast one
And if we make it out a live
We’re gonna have to run and hide
And if they ask you who I am
Turn it around and burn it down to the ground
SOLO
I got the map you got the tools
Don’t need a gun cuz we old school
Meet me out back in the middle of the night
Bag man mike gonna drive us to the heist
Rubber gloves, we don’t leave a trace
Groucho, they can’t see my face
We ain’t just cool we cold as ice
Fake name, just in case it’s a roll of the dice
That’s when it’s time to pull a fast one
I swear that it’ll be the last one
Ain’t gonna wait to see how it ends
This time I’ll take some action
And then I’ll ride off in the sunset
I know you probably upset
But the gloves and the bets all off this time
Old fashioned, let’s pull a fast one

Away
03:10
|
|||
In a room down the corridor - she saw
the ghost a man in a pompadour
He was looking for his baby he's' the one you can hear
crying every night for years
That's when they took her so far - away
and if you ask her where she was she'll tell you - away
and every time it happens she goes - away
away (away) away
doctor bill gave her pills in a comfy room
tho it had no windows, she could see the moon
and she made new friends and they could see it too
and they looked like me and they looked like
you
That's when they took her so far - away
and if you ask her where she was she'll tell you - away
and every time it happens she goes - away
away (away) away
well they don’t know her name but they know she's strange
And she didn’t know what to do
and she played the game, when she said she'd change
and it happened once again, like it did to me and you
solo
Two newlyweds found the home of their dreams
in the middle of their first night, they heard screams
It used to be the sound of a baby’s cry
nowadays they say, there’s a woman in the
sky
That's when they took her so far - away
and if you ask her where she was she'll tell you - away
and every time it happens she goes - away
away (away) away

Joanna Strikes Back
03:54
|
|||
She was a
punk rock scenester, a socialite hottie
with a smile and a body that kills
she had beats in her soul
but she just let them go
and they tell me she's that way still
She got a regular life with a regular guy
in a regular house with some kids
yeah she got what she wanted, but she wants it all back
so tonight she's making sure that she lives
black lips, black top
plaid skirt, doc martins
clash button on her chest
when Joanna strikes back
slit up the back too the small of her crack
it's a asthma attack when
Joanna strikes back
She got the beamer for her hubby
in the Benz with her friends
car seats for the twins, and she drives
far away from the club
and the bands that she loves
one day she just stopped feelin alive
Now she crochets sweaters, to the letter of the law
keeps a pickle in the drawer with the bills
but tonight
she just might throw it away
cuz she aches for her long lost thrills
black lips, black top
plaid skirt, doc martins
clash button on her chest
when Joanna strikes back
slit up the back too the small of her crack
it's a asthma attack when
Joanna strikes back
what happened to the girl I once knew?
sitting in the back cuz she's cool
they say she's gone away but she can't be too far
cuz everywhere I go it feels like there you are
come on!
She was a
punk rock scenester, a socialite hottie
with a smile and a body that kills
she had beats in her soul
and she let them go
but she won't let go against her will
well, she got home past twelve and he was like
What the hell?
Diid you get it out your system tonight?
and she said,
hell no
why'd I ever let it go?
man I can't wait until it's Saturday night!
black lips, black top
plaid skirt,doc martins
clash button on her chest
when Joanna strikes back
slit up the back too the small of her crack
it's a asthma attack when
Joanna strikes back

Cry
03:46
|
|||
Did you ever look around the room and wonder who
who these people are and what they mean to you?
And did you ever stop to think that while you're busy looking at them
they’re looking right back at you too?
And I know that I'm obsessed and should be thinking the best
but never the less, I realize that it's all true
That if I vanished they'd manage to forget that we ever even met
there's only one thing left to do
Put my head down and cry
lift my eyes to the sky wonder why and I cry and I
hold my face in my hands and I cry
I
Wander the streets in the rain in the middle of the night
and I'm hoping that I'll run in to you
& sure enough there you are but the scars run to deep so you
act like I didn’t just see you
Have you ever wondered while your going under as the tunder claps
about the things you didn't ever get to do?
And when you wake up you make up an excuse to go back to bed but some how somehrere
somebody thinks that they need you
put my head down and cry
lift my eyes to the sky wonder why and I cry then I
hold my face in my hands and I cry
I
cry
